Theatre and Film Student Wins $5000 Tuition Credit
91资源全集 is thrilled to announce that the winner of this year’s $5,000 Student Recruitment tuition credit draw is Lily Fraser! Congratulations, Lily!
Lily recently graduated from Neepawa Area Collegiate Institute. This fall, she’s stepping into UWinnipeg’s vibrant Theatre and Film program, where she’ll be majoring in Theatre and minoring in English.
“I’m really excited to act in the campus productions,” Lily said. “I want to get into the entertainment industry and be an actress, so to get to study that at university is a big opportunity for me.”
The Department of Theatre and Film at UWinnipeg is one of the largest and most popular of its kind in the country. Nearly all our Theatre courses have a strong practical component, including performing for an audience at the Asper Centre for Theatre and Film.
A natural performer, Lily has been preparing to study Theatre and Film since high school, where she participated in theatre and pursued competitive dance outside of school.
Lily was in the middle of a family reunion when she got the email letting her know she had won.
“I told my mom first, and she was like, ‘Lily, read that again!’” she laughed. “Then I told the rest of my family, and they were really excited for me.”
She originally entered the annual tuition draw after a UWinnipeg Recruiter visited her high school.
“They came to our school and invited us to enter. I was like, ‘Oh cool, I’ll enter it.’ I didn’t think I’d actually win.”
Now, she’s looking forward to soaking in all that UWinnipeg has to offer. “I’m excited to meet more people who are interested in the same things as me,” she said. “My major really gives me an opportunity to do that more.”
She’s also looking forward to Fall Orientation, where she plans to make new friends and dive into campus life head-on. “The idea of starting things new feels exciting to me,” she said. “I want to do as much as I can and get the full university experience!”
With a strong passion for performance and an open mind for new experiences, Lily is ready to shine both on stage and on campus.
